I write about all things cleaning-related. From robot vacuums to carpet cleaners, I break down the features, pros, and cons to help you choose the right one. I keep it simple, honest, and practical for everyday users.

Lefant M210

The Lefant M210 is a small, self-charging, and app-connected automatic robotic vacuum cleaner. It is one of the cheapest robot vacuums I’ve ever tested. The Lefant M210P is so much different in so many ways. Some features like self-emptying, obstacle detection, LiDAR mapping, or mopping are nonexistent in this robot. It even lacks a brush roller on the bottom and instead uses a soft rubber skirt to collect dirt into a hole inside the base that is also connected to the collection bin.

Moreover, it also supports Alexa, and you will be able to manage it using your voice assistant. It’s an inexpensive robot vacuum cleaner capable of cleaning the small spaces without getting lost but becoming lost in large multi-roomed homes. Efficiently equipped with a diaphragm brushless motor, which generates about 2,000–2,200 Pa suction power, it features a large capacity of 500 ml dustbin and a tangle-free system; thus, it is a vacuum that is especially efficient in collecting pet hair and daily debris.

PROS:

  • Well-made app
  • Very easy to operate
  • Less noisy than average

CONS:

  • Not suitable for big houses
  • No smart mapping features
  • Navigation and docking can sometimes be erratic due to the lack of a stored map.

Design and Features of the Lefant M210

When I first unboxed the Lefant M210, the setup was honestly pretty straightforward. The vacuum itself had a thin plastic film on it, kind of like when you get a new phone, so I peeled that off right away. Inside the box, there was this small brush (which I later realized is for cleaning the vacuum) and two extra side brushes that are exactly the same as the one already attached. Swapping or replacing them is super easy; they just click right into place.

Underneath the vacuum, I noticed the main roller brush, wheels, and a few little sensors, which I found out help it avoid falling off stairs. I also saw the charging points down there. On top, there’s a lid you lift up, and underneath that is the power switch. I flipped that on, and that’s pretty much all you need to do to power it up.

The dustbin is under the same lid. That’s where all the dust and hair go. After a couple of runs, I opened it up and emptied it; it’s not hard at all. There’s also a small filter inside the dustbin. I just tapped it a bit to get the dust out and put it back. You should clean it periodically, particularly if you have pets or a lot of fine dust.

Once everything was back in place, I slid the bin into its slot. There’s a little groove so you can’t mess it up; it just fits right in. And that was it. The whole setup took me maybe 10 minutes, and I didn’t need to read a thick manual or watch any videos. It’s really beginner-friendly.

Docking and App Setup

So once I had everything unpacked, I plugged the dock into the wall. There’s a little light on it that turns on right away, it shifts between colors like purple and blue, which honestly looks kind of cool. When placing the dock, I made sure there was enough space around it, nothing too close on the sides and at least a foot or two of clear space in front, just to make it easier for the vacuum to return and dock properly.

After placing the vacuum on the dock, I turned the power switch on (it’s under the lid), and it was ready to go. Now for the app setup, this part took a few minutes, but it wasn’t too bad. In the Lefant app, I tapped on the option to “Add Robot.” Then I held down the start button on top of the vacuum for about six seconds.
You’ll hear a beep, and then if you keep holding, a second beep follows shortly after.

At that point, I had to go into my phone’s Wi-Fi settings and connect to the signal that the robot was broadcasting, it showed up as something like “Lefant_xx.” Once I connected, I went back to the app and hit continue.
After that, the vacuum paired successfully.

Even though this robot uses bump-and-go navigation, it doesn’t just bounce around randomly. It actually moves in neat lines most of the time, which surprised me. It’s also pretty quiet, I could easily take a call while it was cleaning.

There’s just one button on top, so if you don’t want to use the app, that’s fine too. Press the button once and it starts cleaning. If you double-press it, it returns to the dock. It definitely has sensors because I noticed it avoids stairs and tries to slow down before bumping into things.

When I pressed the recharge button in the app, it took a few seconds to figure out its way back, but it eventually aligned itself and docked perfectly. The app itself is pretty decent. You can switch between three modes, Standard, Quiet, and Powerful, and also set cleaning schedules to fit your routine.

Real-World Cleaning Performance

In order to measure the effectiveness of the Leafant M210 robot vacuum cleaner, I subjected it to different real-life experiences of cleaning. The unit was fully charged, and this took 4 hours, as stipulated in the user manual. When this was done, the M210 was made to work on both hardwood and carpet with low-pile floors just to test its capability in picking up or vacuuming the common debris that we have in the house with reference to dust, pet hair, and crumbs.

The vacuum was efficient in sweeping dirt to the suction inlet due to its dual side brushes, but it could not do deep carpets due to the missing central brush roller. It also performed fine on the hardwood floors, picking up surface debris there, though it was much easier on the surface-level debris on hardwood floors than on lower surfaces. It was able to capture lighter particles such as hair and dust as expected.

Navigation and Overall Usability

To see how well the Lefant M210 actually works, I tried it out around the house in everyday cleaning situations. First, I charged it up, that took around four hours, just like the manual said. Once it was ready, I tested it on both hardwood and low-pile carpet to check how it handled things like dust, crumbs, and pet hair.

It did a decent job sweeping debris toward the suction area, mostly because of the dual side brushes. On hardwood floors, it picked up surface dirt without much trouble. It struggled a bit on deeper carpets, though, probably because it doesn’t have a main brush roller. Lighter messes like hair and fine dust were no problem at all.

Battery Life and Charging: Convenience at Its Best

The battery life and charging station of the Lefant M210 are attuned to user convenience, and the battery lasts long enough to provide decent service. It is also powered by a built-in rechargeable battery that can last up to 100 minutes of local continuous cleaning time with an entire charge. It is very fitting in small and medium-sized households or units that do not require the vacuum to take as long to clean the house and require recharging after two or more cleaning rotations.

When the battery is about to get depleted, the M210 will automatically go back to the charging dock to recharge, and this does not require a person to interfere with it. The docking procedure is easy and solid enough, with the vacuum finding and positioning itself to the bottom in a decent amount of time. It will take about 4 to 5 hours to charge its battery fully, which is normal as far as its battery capacity and the charging time are concerned.

The charging dock that comes with it is small and has a simple setup; also, there is a clear light that may indicate the presence of power. The user is also recommended to maintain a distance of two feet on each side and around four feet upfront to have a clear space so that the robot can safely dock and undock.

All in all, the M210 provides a convenient battery and charging system and makes the robot vacuum more attractive as a budget set-it-and-forget-it machine.

Maintenance and Cleaning: Easy Dustbin Removal

The Lefant M210 robot vacuum cleaner is easy to maintain and friendly to use. It is also very convenient in the way that the dustbin is very near. The dustbin is found beneath the upper cover, which can be unfastened by simply lifting the flap and removing it through the designated tab.

The dustbin opens after omitting to allow the quick emptying. The air filter is also accessible (by removal) and easy to simply clean or replenish. The fact that regular maintenance of the device (i.e., rinsing the filter and emptying the dustbin after 2-3 cleaning sessions) is recommended also promotes good suction exploitation.

The M210 comes with an additional air filter and a small brush to help in maintenance.

The Verdict: Should You Buy the Lefant M210?

The Lefant M210 robot vacuum cleaner is easy to maintain and friendly to use. It is also very convenient in the way that the dustbin is very near. The dustbin is found beneath the upper cover, which can be unfastened by simply lifting the flap and removing it through the designated tab.

The M210 comes with an additional air filter and a small brush to help in maintenance. There is no central brush roller, so there is less possibility of tangling of hair or debris, so the whole cleaning process is more direct. All in all, the dustbin extraction and filter cleaning are easy enough to be performed on a daily basis, and they make the vacuum so easy to own.
